In 1953 Edelrid invented the kernmantel rope and turned the humble climbing rope from a tool to retrieve a dead climber’s body to fine piece of engineering that let leaders climb till they failed, and thus progressing climbing to what it is today. Still today they hold onto that heritage and are one of the world’s largest rope manufacturers and certainly remain one of the most innovative.
The Boa 9.8mm dynamic rope is a perfect all-round sport, trad and gym climbing rope. Light and supple enough for those hard sends or dragging up that multipitch, yet durable enough to handle a good beating. The Boa is constructed with Edelrid's 'Thermo Shield' which is a precise procedure where the fibres of both core and sheath are heat treated to relax yarns and insure perfect consistency throughout the rope. The result is a more supple rope that will not shrink or become stiff.
As with all Edelrid ropes, they are manufactured in Germany and carry the BlueSign Product badge which insures that these ropes are manufactured under the strictest environmental code applied to the textile industry.
